Ever since childhood, I have had a strong connection to the outdoors, whether spending time at my grandparent's cabin, camping with my family, or hiking and exploring the woods behind our home.

I've been fortunate enough to build a lifetime of outdoor memories, often with my wife and 3 children, and sometime on my own or with a small group of friends. I enjoy everything from exploring local parks to eco-tourism abroad with varied activities such as caneoing, hiking, camping, fishing, backpacking, birdwatching, snorkeling, scuba diving and more.

As an environmental educator, I've learned I get almost as much joy out of teaching others about the natural world as I do on these adventures and this website and blog is a natural extension of that. It's nothing short of awe-inspiring to be able to spend so much time outdoors doing the things I love. If you're an explorer like I am, I hope you enjoy virtually coming along with me on my adventures.

“There are some who can live without wild things and some who cannot.”
- Aldo Leopold

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived".
-Henry David Thoreau
